A promotional video for the film version of "My Dangerous Wife," based on the popular TV anime "My Dangerous Wife" currently being serialized on Akita Shoten's manga site, Champion Cross, has been released on YouTube. The video uses a live scene of the band "Primary COLOR," featuring the lead character Ichikawa Kyotaro's older sister, Ichikawa Kana, affectionately known as "Onee," on vocals and guitar, performing the song "Tsudzuku" from the film, and shows the band members layering their sounds on stage.
It was also announced that the second bonus for attendees will be mini colored paper featuring original illustrations by character designer Masato Katsumata, which will be distributed from February 20th. There are three types in total, featuring Kyotaro Ichikawa, Anna Yamada, and Kana Ichikawa, and each colored paper features the characters "Boku," "Ya," and "Ba." When the three are lined up, the title "BokuYaba" is completed.
The film is comprised of re-edited footage from the TV anime, as well as brand new footage of what happened after the second season and that moment between Ichikawa and Yamada. It was released on February 13th.
"My Dangerous Wife" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten) in 2018 and is currently being serialized in Champion Cross (same publisher). It is a youthful romantic comedy about Ichikawa Kyotaro, an introverted boy in the midst of his chuunibyou syndrome, and Yamada Anna, a beautiful, outgoing girl at the top of the school's social hierarchy. It has gained popularity, having been ranked in the "This Manga is Amazing!" men's edition for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021, and winning first place in the web manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2020" in 2020. The comic has sold over 7 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023, and the second season aired from January to March 2024 on TV Asahi's late-night anime slot "NUMAnimation."
