The three identical triplets, the Sato brothers, who are synchronized acrobatic performers, have been appointed tourism ambassadors for their hometown of Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture. On February 15th, the "Tourism Ambassador Appointment Ceremony" was held at the White Cube Cultural and Sports Center in the city, and the three attended.
The venue is a place where the three Sato brothers themselves have fond memories of practicing rhythmic gymnastics since they were children. They made a triumphant return to their hometown and were introduced as tourism ambassadors in front of children learning rhythmic gymnastics.
The eldest son, Ayato, declared, "We are able to do this activity thanks to Shiroishi City, which has nurtured us. From now on, I would like to contribute to Shiroishi City in various ways and give back to it." The second son, Hayato, spoke with deep emotion, saying, "Remembering that we used to practice here fills my heart with warm feelings."
The third son, Yoshito, said with a smile, "When we were children, we never imagined that we would become tourism ambassadors for Shiroishi City. (Now) the three of us live in Tokyo, but whenever we go back home and get off at Shiroishi-Zao Station, we always think that the air is so clean and we all say that it's such a relaxing place. We are really happy to have the opportunity to serve as tourism ambassadors for such a wonderful city as Shiroishi."
Mayor Yuichi Yamada also attended the ceremony, saying, "I have watched the Sato brothers' achievements since they were little, here at White Cube. I was very happy to see how much they have grown today. I sincerely hope that the Sato brothers will continue to be a source of pride for Shiroishi City, and will continue to fully demonstrate the city's charm."
