Actress Haru appeared at the Japan premiere of the TV drama "Kitakata Kenzo Suikoden" held in Tokyo on February 9th. This was her first public appearance since announcing her marriage to actor Takasugi Mahiro on December 23rd last year. During the photo session, she was smiling and making heart poses.
Haru smiled and said, "I'm happy to have been invited to such a glamorous event," and appealed to viewers about the work "Suikoden," saying, "It also depicts the story of a small family. I hope that viewers will find some warmth in it."
Haru and Takasugi co-starred in the drama series "My Bride" (Fuji TV), which aired in April 2023. In announcing their marriage, they jointly wrote, "We got to know each other through work, and as time passed, we came to the realization that we wanted to walk through life together. Although we are both inexperienced, we intend to use this marriage as an opportunity to grow even more as people and as actors, and to work sincerely. We hope that you will continue to support us in the future."
The drama is based on Kitakata Kenzo's monumental historical epic novel "Suikoden" series (19 volumes, Shueisha Bunko). It is a reconstruction of "Suikoden," considered one of China's three great classics, with a total circulation of over 11.6 million copies. It is the first in the "Great Suikoden" trilogy, which will be followed by "Yang Lingden" and "Yue Feiden." It will be broadcast on WOWOW every Sunday at 10pm from February 15th. It will also be streamed simultaneously on WOWOW On Demand and Lemino. There are 7 episodes in total.
