It has been announced that the third series of the comedy drama "The Incidents Happen Around It," starring actress Fuka Koshiba, will be broadcast for four consecutive days starting March 9th on the network's "Yorudara" time slot (General TV, Monday to Thursday at 10:45am). In addition to Koshiba, Masaru Kasamatsu, Yukiya Kitamura, Kana Kurashina, and Shuhei Nakano will also appear in the series, as they did in the previous two series.
The drama is a new type of situational comedy set in a small local police station, focusing not on the crime itself but on the troubles that arise around it. It is produced by the staff of NHK's popular comedy program "LIFE!". Ko Shibasaki plays the protagonist, detective Mano Ichika, who hates to lose and wants to accomplish everything on her own. Series 1 will air in 2022, and Series 2 in 2024. Due to the positive reception of the first two series, it has now been decided that Series 3 will air.
In series 3, Kasamatsu will continue to play Udagawa Kazuto, a rationalist who values efficiency and casts a cold eye on Mano, Kitamura will play Tanizaki Makoto, Mano and Udagawa's superior and an inspector who cannot stand up to a police inspector 10 years his senior, Kurashina will play Mukaida Mai, a self-proclaimed former forensic lab ace, and Nakano will play Tokudaiji Reo, a traffic police officer who has a crush on Mano. It has also been announced that Mukai Osamu will appear as a special guest in the role of Shiina Youji, the lead actor in the drama "Detective Nikaido," which the members of Shingetsu Police Station are big fans of.
Ko Shibasaki commented, "This is the third series of 'Criminals Happen All Around Us'. We have finally managed to apprehend the culprit. This is a drama where typical detective crimes don't occur, but I hope you will watch until the end. And we have another great guest...! Stay tuned!"
