The third episode of the drama series "Punch-Drunk Woman: XX Days Left Until Prison Break" (Nippon TV, Sundays at 10:30 p.m.), starring actress Shinohara Ryoko, was broadcast on January 25th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 3.2% for households and 1.8% for individuals.
The drama is an original prison escape suspense story inspired by a true story from overseas in which a female prison guard helped a male inmate escape and escaped with him. Veteran female prison guard Kozue Fuyuki (played by Shinohara) has always lived a disciplined and honest life, but her life is turned upside down when she meets Reiji Kusaka (played by Jesse), a pretrial detainee charged with robbery and murder who is closely related to Kozue's secret.
In episode 3, Kusaka Reiji (Jesse), who is suspected of murdering his father, claims his innocence to Kozue Fuyuki (Shinohara), a prison guard at Hikawa Detention Center. Detective Saeki Yusuke (Fujiki Naohito) says that the circumstantial evidence makes it highly unlikely that he is innocent, but... Meanwhile, Reiji approaches a cult that is plotting a prison break, asking them to join him. Shortly after, a hostage situation occurs inside the detention center. What is the motive behind the man (Horiuchi Ken) who demands a retrial in exchange for Kozue's life?
