The 14th episode, "Athlete's Oath," which will be the first episode of the second season of the TV anime "Medalist," based on the popular figure skating manga, will be broadcast on TV Asahi's late-night anime slot "NUMAnimation" from January 24th. In the second season, Yuzuki Inori and Akiura Michiji will compete in the Chubu Regional Tournament, with a chance to compete in the All Japan Championships.
The Chubu Block Tournament is where the All Japan Novice Tournament will be decided. Yuzuki Inori is overjoyed to be in the place she has always dreamed of, and she cheerfully greets her rivals in the Novice A division. Then, the training athletes selected by the federation appear.
"Medalist" is a manga by Tsurumai Ikada that has been serialized in the manga magazine "Monthly Afternoon" (Kodansha) since 2020. The story follows Akiura Michiji, a young man who has failed as a skater, who meets Yuzuki Inori, a girl who dreams of becoming a figure skater, and aims to become a glorious medalist as both a coach and athlete. The first season of the TV anime aired on NUMAnimation from January to March 2025. A theatrical anime film depicting the story following the second season will be released in 2027.
