The second episode of the TBS Tuesday drama "Mirai no Musuko" (Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring actress Shida Mirai, aired on January 20th. The scene in which Shida's character, Shiokawa Mirai, tells Sota (Amano Yu), "The greatest luxury a mother can have is having you here," touched the hearts of viewers.

Mirai leaves Souta waiting in front of the apartment while she goes to get her luggage. Despite telling him to "stay here," when she returns, Souta is gone.
Panicked, Mirai searches the surroundings but cannot find Souta. In a panic, Mirai consults Yuta (Nozomu Kotaki). Yuta searches for Souta, and Mirai decides to wait at home.
"Please come back safely..." Mirai said, almost bursting into tears. Then she received a call saying that Souta had been found, and ran out of the house.
After giving Souta a big hug, Mirai is relieved and says "That's good," but immediately afterwards she blurts out, "Don't do anything selfish anymore! Do you know how worried I was?" Yuta tells her, "There's a reason (for children's behavior). Listen to them before scolding them," and Mirai apologizes to Souta.
That night, Mirai and Souta decided to have omurice together. "Mom's greatest luxury is having Souta here!" she said with a big smile.
On social media, comments included, "A mother's greatest luxury is being with Souta! Mirai, you're a great mother!", "Watching Mirai desperately searching for Souta, she looks like a mother already... it made me cry to see her become a proper mother," "I cried again this time, just like the first time," and "The scene where she said, 'The greatest luxury is being with Souta' brought me to tears..."
The drama is based on the popular manga "My Future Son: A Son Came Down From Heaven After 10 Years of Singles!" written by Kumiko Aso and illustrated by Hajime Kuromugi. Mirai, who is unsatisfied in love, work and dreams, suddenly becomes a mother. Through raising a child, she learns about the importance of living and supporting others, and starts living again. This is Shida's first role as a mother in 20 years, since the 2006 drama "14-Year-Old Mother" (NTV).
