The third episode of the NHK BS period drama "Fuurai Gumo," starring actor Sasaki Kuranosuke, will be broadcast on January 18th. The subtitle of the episode is "Farewell! Okita Soji." "Fuurai Gumo" is a period drama based on the manga of the same name by George Akiyama. The setting is Shinagawa-shuku at the end of the Edo period. Fuurai Gumo is an eccentric man who wears a woman's kimono and has his hair tied in front of his forehead. With a fluffy and elusive appearance, he lives his days freely, but before you know it, he gently changes the destinies of others. This is a hymn to humanity filled with laughter and tears.
Kana Kurashina plays Kame, the wife of Furubumi Kumo, a generous and charming woman who embraces Kumo with deep affection, while Eito Kawahara plays their son Shinnosuke, who is serious but also has a childlike side. Other cast members include Issey Ogata Ogata, Gota Watanabe, Naomasa Rokuhei, Tomoya Maeno, and Noriko Nakagoshi.
In the third episode, Okita Soji of the Shinsengumi arrives at Shinagawa-juku. Meanwhile, Yamamoto, who has escaped from Tosa, comes to Shinagawa with his wife and children to become a businessman.
Okita's son Yasujiro (Tetsuta Shimada) became friends with Shinnosuke (Kawahara) at Aota Juku, and through this connection, Yamamoto was introduced to a job by Furakumo (Sasaki). However, Yamamoto was a member of the Tosa Loyalist Party, and Okita sent an assassin, Izo (Takafumi Imai), to his rescue.
Then, Furakumo takes Yamamoto and Izo with him to meet Okita...
