It has been announced that original illustration cards Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash (directed by Naoyuki Onda), Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Witch of Circe. There are two types of illustration cards: Hathaway & Gigi, and Kenneth & Lane. An A3 poster featuring the Xi (Xii) Gundam will be distributed as a special gift to attendees of the IMAX version.
A stage greeting to commemorate the release will be held at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) and Grand Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro (Toshima-ku, Tokyo) on January 31st, and it was announced that Kensho Ono, who plays Hathaway Noah, Reina Ueda Ueda, who plays Gigi Andalusia, Junichi Suwabe Soma Saito, who plays Kenneth Sleg, Soma Saito, who plays Lane Aim, director Shukou Murase, and producer Keisuke Kasai will be in attendance.
Information on merchandise for the theater was also announced. There are two types of pamphlets: a regular version and a deluxe version. The regular version includes character introductions and cast interviews, as well as a story introduction, MS (Mobile Suit) settings, and a glossary of terms. The deluxe version comes with a bonus booklet featuring Director Murase's storyboards, original drawings, art designs, and more. In addition to standard goods such as posters and key chains, and randomly included costume metal charms, original shoppers and popcorn sets with theater-specific bonuses will also be on sale. A specially packaged Ξ Gundam Gunpla, "HG 1/144 Ξ Gundam [Clear Color] Theater Release Commemorative Package," will also be on sale from February 6th.
T-Joy affiliated theaters will be offering original food items with special bonuses for first-come, first-served purchasers, such as Ξ Gundam Beam Saber-style Churritos and Gustav Karl Type 00 Beam Saber-style Churritos. As a first-come, first-served bonus, a total of four types of A5-sized foil-stamped big coasters will be given away. T-Joy Hakata (Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City) will be offering Mufti Churros and Earth Federation Forces Churros.
"Hathaway's Flash" is based on a novel published in 1989-90 by director Yoshiyuki Tomino, known as the creator of the "Gundam" series. Set in the year 0105 of the Universal Century, Hathaway, the son of Bright Noa, who experienced a bitter separation during the Second Neo Zeon War, pilots a new mobile suit, the XI Gundam, and rises up in rebellion against the Earth Federation government. It has been announced that the anime will be divided into three chapters, with the first chapter, released in June 2021, being a hit, grossing approximately 2.23 billion yen. The second chapter, "Circe's Witch," will be released in 426 theaters, including IMAX, on January 30th.
