It has been announced that WOWOW's educational short comedy drama "Kane Deka!" (18 episodes), a detective drama that teaches you a little about money, will be available in its entirety on the official WOWOW YouTube channel from January 19th. This is a "new sensation" drama that allows viewers to naturally learn about all things related to money, such as the basics of investment and deductions, a national tax-saving system, while watching the drama. All episodes are already available on WOWOW On Demand.
Two detectives from the fictional Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Special Investigation Unit for Money, commonly known as "Kanedeka," track down the culprits of various crimes by tracing the movements of money. Murder cases occur based on four themes: "unattended investment," "deductions," "high-risk, high-return investment," and "accumulation investment," and viewers can gain financial knowledge from the process by which Kanedeka solves the cases. Actor Ryuji Harada, appearing in a WOWOW drama for the first time in 10 years, plays the lead role of detective Saijo Kiichiro, while Hiroki Okabe plays Saijo's junior colleague, Todoroki Kaito.
"Kane Deka!", a detective drama that gives you a little insight into money, will be streamed on the WOWOW official YouTube channel every Monday at 7am starting from January 19th. Each episode will be about 5 minutes long and will be streamed for 18 weeks. The story is as follows:
"The Neglected Murder Case" (Episodes 1-5): Saijo Kiichiro (Harada) and Todoroki Kaito (Okabe) are detectives from Kanedakata, a financial institution that tracks down the culprit through the movement of money. From the purchase history of individual stocks and gold bars found at the crime scene, they realize that the victim had been neglecting his investments. His son, host Harita Nishiki (Maehara Mizuki), receives expensive gifts from his customers... "The Deduction Serial Murders" (Episodes 6-10): Kaneda's Saijo and Todoroki suspect that a murder that occurred at the end of the year was committed by a "deduction maniac," but the person they track down using a gift in return for a hometown tax donation turns out to be his wife, Kagami Suzuko (Mori Momoko)...
