It has been announced that Lawson's new TV commercial, "Karaage-kun Local! Delicious Food Festival," starring actor Tomio Umezawa, will be broadcast nationwide from January 12th. Prior to the broadcast, the commercial has been released on YouTube.
Following the positive reception of the "Local Karaage-kun" products released last summer, which have different flavors for each region, new "Local Karaage-kun" products will be released this winter in seven regions: Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Tokai-Hokuriku, Kinki, Chugoku-Shikoku, and Kyushu.
Commercials were also produced for each region. As Umezawa takes a bite of the new product, a collage of motifs and flavors unique to each region unfolds behind him, expressing a "nationwide taste tour." In the Kanto version, he delivers passionate lines tailored to the product, such as "The aroma of soy sauce is fragrant and delicious!!!" and in the Kyushu version, he delivers "A spicy, juicy garlic punch!!!"
The behind-the-scenes and interview footage were also released, in which Umezawa talks about his impressions of tasting the new product.
