Singer-songwriter and rapper Chanmina appeared on the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen Gassen (General TV and others), which aired on December 31st. This was her first appearance on Kouhaku alongside the seven-member girl group HANA, for which she is the producer, and the "master-student collaboration" drew attention.
HANA was born from the girl group audition "No No Girls" (commonly known as Nonoga), which was produced by Chanmina-san, and made their major debut in April this year. On the stage of Kohaku, the members wore bright red costumes and performed their debut song "ROSE."
Following HANA's performance, Chanmina-san appeared in bold costumes and gave a stunning performance of Nonoga's theme song "NG." Afterwards, for "SAD SONG," the members of HANA joined in, realizing a "master-disciple collaboration."
"SAD SONG" was also the song sung by Chanmina and the other finalists at Nono Girls' final audition, "No No Girls THE FINAL," and comments on social media included, "It reminded me of the final audition and it made me so excited," "SAD SONG reminded me of all those moments in the final," "The performance of each member singing SAD SONG facing Chanmina one by one really made me cry," "HANA's performance in SAD SONG brought me to tears," "It was so emotional," and "She was so cool I was shaking...!"
The theme of the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen was "Connecting, Connecting, New Year's Eve," and the event was hosted by Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Haruka Ayase, Mio Imada, and announcer Naoko Suzuki.
