The second day of rehearsals for the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, which will be broadcast on New Year's Eve, began on December 29th at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo, with the dance and vocal group BE:FIRST, who will be appearing for the fourth time in a row, taking the stage as the first act.
They will perform the ballad "Muchuu," which was also the theme song for Fuji TV's Thursday Theatre drama "A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You" that aired in April this year. At a press conference after the rehearsal, RYUHEI said enthusiastically, "We're a dance and vocal group, so we often sing and dance, but this time we'll just be singing, so I want to show that I can be captivating with just singing."
The opening segment, "100th Anniversary Red and White Special Medley," will also feature a performance of "Paprika," and while MANATO said she has yet to learn the choreography, she said, "I'll be dancing really cutely (laughs)."
The theme of the 76th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen is "Connecting, Connecting, New Year's Eve," and it will be hosted by Hiroiki Ariyoshi, Haruka Ayase, Mio Imada, and announcer Naoko Suzuki. It will be broadcast from 7:20 pm to 11:45 pm on December 31st (with some news breaks).
