Tonight's episode of "A House Alone" is a 300th anniversary 3-hour special

"The House in the Middle of Nowhere" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sundays) is a variety show that uses satellite photos to find a remote house. December 28th will be a three-hour special broadcast from 6:00 PM to 8:56 PM, marking the 300th episode. The search team will visit Gifu and Oita prefectures. Guests include actor Yuki Amami and TV personality/actor Eiji Wentz.

In Gifu Prefecture, the search team headed to a village beyond a vast quarry. When asked about the route to a house deep in the mountains seen in satellite photos, a 46-year-old female resident replied, "It might be a mountain hut belonging to someone I know." The owner's home is in a village at the foot of the mountain, and her son and daughter-in-law run a cafe nearby.

After being told about an entrance to the mountain that only locals use, the search team heads for a house deep in the mountains. However, at the entrance to the mountain there is a sign that reads "Stop Further Ahead" and "No Entry except Authorized Vehicles." In search of clues, the search team heads to a cafe in a village at the foot of the mountain.

The cafe was closed, but when they called out to a couple weeding nearby, they discovered that they were the owners of the house they were heading for: an 83-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife. They offered to show them the mountain hut, so the search team headed to their destination with the couple. When they were given a tour of the hut, they discovered that it was built entirely from local timber such as cedar and pine, with an elegant structure that resembled a traditional Japanese inn, drawing envious glances from Amami and Wentz, who were watching from the studio. The couple have been married for 60 years and enjoy working in the fields, growing blueberries and konjac potatoes. The search team got a close look at the unique lifestyle deep in the mountains.

In Oita Prefecture, the search team visits a Japanese-style house nestled among the mountains amidst the beautiful autumn foliage. They are welcomed by a couple, aged 77 and 73. They live in this area, cultivating ginkgo nuts and chestnuts. The husband answers the search team's questions with a smile on his face, but he reveals that he has suffered from serious illnesses many times in the past. But what is the life of this cheerful couple, who can laugh off such stories of hardship?

What they encountered in these two life stories was exactly what they needed to know to enjoy life. Amami and Wentz seemed impressed.
