On December 16th, actor Yo Oizumi attended a press conference with co-star Dean Fujioka at the TV Asahi headquarters (Minato Ward, Tokyo) for the drama "A Little Esper" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 9pm), which airs its final episode that night. He spoke of his gratitude to Aoi Miyazaki, who plays the heroine Shiki.
The drama stars Oizumi and is based on an original script by Akiko Nogi, and follows the story of Bunta (played by Oizumi), a salaryman at rock bottom who becomes a bit of a psychic and embarks on a mission to "save the world" with his friends. Dean plays Sakurasuke, a fellow psychic.
At the press conference, the host read a letter from Miyazaki, expressing his gratitude and praise for the couple. Oizumi then reflected on the shoot, saying, "Aoi was a genius. I don't think she gets much sleep while raising a child, but she's always full of energy."
Dean Fujioka also expressed his gratitude, saying, "Even while raising her children, her posture, strength, and presence throughout the four seasons were overwhelming. She supported not only me but everyone."
Regarding the final episode, Oizumi said, "The final episode was amazing! The thrilling developments at the Christmas market were just as you'd expect from Akiko Nogi!"
