Actor Hiroki Narimiya will appear on the variety show "Meshidora ~ Kanechika & Shinnosuke's Gourmet Drive" (NTV, Kanto local), which will be broadcast from 12:45 pm to 2:00 pm on December 7th. This will be his first appearance on a variety show in about nine years.
This was Narimiya's first time meeting MC Daiki Kanechika, and he had previously co-starred with Shinnosuke Mitsushima in an NHK Asadora. The three of them went on a drive around Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
During the car ride, they also talked about Narimiya's values. Narimiya, who entered the entertainment industry at the age of 18, did not attend high school. Looking back on that time, he said that an exchange about litmus paper in a middle school class "made me start thinking a lot, and I somehow lost interest in school."
From there, he began to think about what it meant to earn money, and he started working part-time, and at home he was given a salary instead of an allowance. He revealed that he "realized" the value of work and money "very early," and said, "So, there may not be anything I want (right now), material things at least."
Narimiya, who will be working on stage for the first time in about 12 years, also spoke about the strange bond he has with director Miyamoto Amon. Narimiya, whose debut work 25 years ago was in Miyamoto's work, was thinking about resuming his career as an actor when "I happened to meet Miyamoto when I went to the beach (who happened to be there)..." The conversation there led to their first collaboration in 25 years.
