On December 1, Fuji Television announced that announcer Marino Fujimoto will be retiring on December 31 of this year. This is her own wish.
Fujimoto was born on October 30, 1995, in Fukuoka Prefecture. He graduated from the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Medicine and joined Fuji Television in April 2019. He has worked primarily on information programs, including as an entertainment and information Caster on "Mezamashi TV" and as an MC on "Mr. Sunday." He has also hosted variety shows such as "Sanma's Comedy Improvement Committee." He announced his marriage in August of this year.
Fujimoto announced, "I have decided to leave Fuji Television, where I have worked for the past seven years. I will be graduating from Mezamashi TV and Sanma no Owarai Kokou Iinkai at the end of December, and from Mr. Sunday in March of next year."
"From the time I took the entrance exam, I aspired to become an announcer who could handle any program, and I had the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience working on information programs, news programs, and variety shows. I was still inexperienced both as a member of society and as an announcer, but the company has nurtured me, sometimes kindly and sometimes strict, and I am filled with gratitude. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone I met through the programs, to those who nurtured me, and to all the viewers who always send me warm messages. Thank you so much. From now on, I will approach my work in my own way while cherishing my family life and my own time. I will continue to work hard, never forgetting what I learned at Fuji TV. I look forward to your continued support," she commented.
Fujimoto's successor was also announced, and from January the information Caster for "Mezamashi TV" will be Harada Aoi, along with newcomers Komuro Eriko and Takasaki Haru. Harada will take over as host of "Sanma's Comedy Improvement Committee" from the Christmas live broadcast special on December 24th.
