The 40th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " starring Akari Takaishi was broadcast on November 21st, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 16.3% for households and 9.1% for individuals, a new record for the show.
The 16.2% household viewership rate surpassed the 16.1% seen in the 35th episode (broadcast on November 14th), making it the highest figure for the show.
" Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. Based on the life of Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn) and his wife Setsu, the story follows the heroine, who loves ghost stories, as she lives her ordinary, everyday life with her foreign husband. The story is not based on an original novel, but is an original work by screenwriter Mitsuhiko Fujiki, who has worked on NHK's drama "Asagaya Sisters' Relaxed Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series."
In episode 40, Nishikori (played by Ryo Yoshizawa) is secretly practicing to master skipping. However, his students Kotani (played by Kyohei Shimokawa), Masaki (played by Yukito Hidaka), his younger brother Takeru (played by Rairin Sugita), and Heaven (played by Tommy Bastow) find out. Through a series of unexpected events, the topic of skipping originating in America, where Heaven was born, is raised, but Heaven was not born in America.
A big quiz competition to learn about Heaven began, with Nishikori and his friends, including Toki (Takaishi), joining in...and so on.
