It has been revealed that Tsuda Atsuhiro of the comedy duo "Diane" will be appearing in the TBS Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm) in January 2026. Tsuda, who plays an executive of the "dark forces," is also a regular in the currently airing Friday drama "Fake Mummy," making his debut in the Sunday Theatre series after appearing in two consecutive seasons of dramas. "I'm putting on the best 'bad guy face' possible, so I hope you'll pay attention to that. Don't miss it and make sure you watch it!!" he said.
The story is an extreme family suspense drama in which Riku Hayase, an ordinary pastry chef played by Ryohei Suzuki, is framed for the murder of his wife, but in order to prove his innocence and find the real culprit, he abandons his beloved family and past and takes on the identity of Gido, a corrupt detective at the Metropolitan Police Department. The script is written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who has worked on many hit Sunday Theatre shows such as "Grand Maison Tokyo," "TOKYO MER: Running Emergency Room," and "My Family."
The cast members announced this time are the "dark forces" closing in on Suzuki's protagonist. Yukiya Kitamura will play Wataru Goroku, the president of Go-Six Corporation, which operates in the restaurant and hotel business, but who also operates in the underworld; Yoshi Sakou Isamu Kaieda, a legal advisor to Go-Six Corporation and a senior member of Goroku's underground organization; Takemasa Tsukaji will play Kikuchi, a senior member of Goroku's underground organization; and Tsuda will play Ando, another senior member of Goroku's underground organization.
