To commemorate the November 21st release of the animated feature film " Scarlet ," the latest work by director Mamoru Hosoda, known for such works as "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and " Summer Wars ," a video was released on YouTube in collaboration with popular YouTuber Hajime Syacho, who is a huge fan of Hosoda's work. Hosoda visited Hajime Syacho's "500 million yen mansion," and the two creators had a conversation.
The released video is said to be over an hour long, with the comment, "I can't cut anything!" At the beginning, we see Hajime Shacho excitedly talking about the project, seemingly still not fully understanding the situation, even on the day of the recording. When Director Hosoda arrives at his home, he shows us a number of rooms that he has meticulously designed, including a classroom-like recording studio, a basketball court, and an ancient Roman-style bathroom.
As the two enjoyed playing basketball, Director Hosoda revealed, "Actually, I did the animation for 'Slam Dunk' when I was in my 20s...", surprising Hajime Syacho. When Director Hosoda toured the streaming location, he expressed his creative desire, saying, "Maybe I'll create a work using Hajime Syacho as a model next time," and thoroughly enjoyed touring the 500 million yen mansion.
Hajime Syacho asked Director Hosoda questions as a creator who brings entertainment to the world, such as "How can you continue making things for a long time?", and they had a passionate discussion.
Hajime Syacho also showed off the brand new "Hajime Syacho House Cinema" that he had built at a cost of 100 million yen, which was the thing he most wanted to show Director Hosoda. He revealed that he had realized his dream of having a real cinema in his own home. Director Hosoda, who was the first to visit the cinema, openly expressed his envy and praised the cinema's professional soundproofing, acoustics, and seats. On the way out, there was also a surprise where Director Hosoda signed the cinema door. At the end of the video, it was announced that a special "Hajime Syacho x 'Mirai of the Future'" project would be held.
