A special episode of Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday 1pm) entitled "Tetsuko's Room SP: Takuya Kimura and the Great Actors Who Coloured the Era" will be broadcast on November 21st from 8pm to 9:54pm (excluding some areas). This will be Takuya Kimura's first appearance on "Tetsuko's Room" in about five years, since "45th Anniversary SP" (broadcast in April 2020).
Kimura made a dashing appearance in a combination of dark blue denim and a herringbone jacket. When Kuroyanagi asked him, "How are you doing lately?" he replied with a smile, "I've been feeling very fulfilled."
Unlike usual, this day's talk will be conducted in a way that guests choose cards with talk themes written on them, and talk about the theme of the card they chose. When talking about "what they've been into lately," Kimura talks about his daily routine of walking his beloved dog.
After seeing a photo of Kimura's dog on social media, Kuroyanagi asked, "He's so cute, isn't he coming today? What kind of sound does he make? Can you try it out for me?" Kimura was surprised, but responded with a "divine response."
During the talk, Kuroyanagi revealed the reason for her trademark "onion hair." When guests were children, she would sometimes hide candy in their hair. "I've decided to only give (candy) to children or people with pure hearts. So even if I had (candy) today, I'm not sure if I would give it to you," she said, declaring that she would not be considerate to Kimura. Will Kimura really be recognized as a "person with a pure heart?"
Kimura appeared in director Yamada Yoji's latest film, "TOKYO Taxi," which was released on the same day. Director Yamada also appeared in the studio to share behind-the-scenes stories from the filming. Regarding Kimura, who played the role of a taxi driver, Director Yamada praised him, saying, "Kimura played a passive role listening to the passenger, played by Chieko Baisho, but in order for Baisho to give a good performance, Kimura needed to listen carefully. It's the same as not being able to throw a good ball without a good catcher."
The program will also feature rare talks from the star-studded cast of "TOKYO Taxi," including Aoi Yu and Otake Shinobu, as well as famous actors who have graced Yamada's works, including Yoshinaga Sayuri, the late Atsumi Kiyoshi, and the late Takakura Ken.
