It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime "The Detective is Already Dead," based on the light novel from MF Bunko J (KADOKAWA), "The Detective is Already Dead. Season 2," will begin airing in July 2026. Character design images for Scarlett and Mia, who will be appearing for the second season, as well as childhood design images for Siesta, Natsunagi Nagisa, and Alicia have also been released.
"The Detective is Already Dead" is a popular light novel that won the Grand Prize at the 15th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award. The story follows the protagonist Kimizuka Kimihiko and the brilliant detective Siesta, who meet at 10,000 meters in the sky and spend three years together on an adventure before being separated by death. However, the assistant who lost the detective rises again... The first season of the anime aired from July to September 2021.
