A 4K digital restoration of "Gamera vs. Gyaos," the third film in the "Gamera" monster film series and released in 1967 (directed by Noriaki Yuasa), will be broadcast on BS12 TwellV from 7:00 PM on November 16th. This is the first time Gyaos has appeared in the "Gamera" series. When it flies over Nagoya, it goes on a rampage, destroying Nagoya Castle and attacking a Shinkansen train. This film solidified the popularity of its rival, Gamera.
Amid the chaos of Mount Fuji's eruption, Eiichi (Abe Naoyuki), a boy living at the foot of the mountain, spots Gamera flying through the air and beams with joy. The aircraft carrying the comprehensive investigation team formed to deal with Gamera is split in half by a mysterious green ray and crashes. While Tsutsumi (Hongo Kojiro), Might's Kuma (Marui Taro), and Hachiko (Hotaru Yukitaro) are working on road construction, struggling with Gamera's attack, Mount Fuji's eruption, and the local residents' eviction campaign, Eiichi is attacked by a mysterious monster. Rescued at the last moment by Gamera, Eiichi narrowly escapes death and names the monster "Gyaos" after its eerie cry.
Through the research of Dr. Aoki (Yoshiro Kitahara), it is discovered that the mysterious ray is an ultrasonic scalpel emitted by the monster Gyaos. An aerial operation is launched to repel Gyaos, but it is no match for the ultrasonic scalpel. Finally, Gyaos flies to the large city of Nagoya, splitting Nagoya Castle and the Tokaido Shinkansen in half.
The humans use all their ingenuity to take on the nefarious Gyaos with a strategy, while Gamera fights as if to help them. The final means to defeat Gyaos, a plan to have it face off against Gamera, turns out to be Eiichi's idea...
