On November 14, WOWOW announced that it will broadcast live all 15 matches of the Six Nations, a rugby competition between six European nations that begins on February 6, 2026. It was also announced that it will live stream all matches of the Super Rugby Pacific, a tournament to determine the strongest club in the Southern Hemisphere that begins on February 13.
The Six Nations, first held in 1883, is the oldest and most traditional international rugby tournament. England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, and Italy compete in a fierce battle to be crowned the strongest team in Europe, with 15 matches played each year from February to March. Over the past four years, France and Ireland have shared the title twice each. France, who won in 2025 for the first time in three years, will be the focus of attention as they look to defend their title.
Super Rugby Pacific is held every year from February to June and brings together star players from the Southern Hemisphere. Eleven club teams based in New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji compete to be the strongest club in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2026, Warner Deans will transfer to the powerful Hurricanes, and Harada Mamoru will transfer to Moana Pacifica. Two players with experience playing for the Japanese national team will be competing in Super Rugby Pacific. This will be the first time a Japanese player has transferred to Super Rugby Pacific since Himeno Kazuki five years ago.
