A visual has been released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of the animated film "MEMORIES," which was produced and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, known for the manga "AKIRA," among others. The film will be shown again in 4K digitally remastered form for a limited two-week run starting November 28th.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary, messages have been sent by director Tensai Okamura of "The Smelliest Weapon," Tanaka Eiko of STUDIO 4℃, character designer Kawasaki Hiroshi of "The Smelliest Weapon," character designer Obara Shuichi of "City of Cannons," technical designer Katabuchi Sunao, key animator Murata Mitsunori, art directors Ina Junko and Ishikawa Yamako, special effects designer Tamai Setsuko, and Flying Dog's Sasaki Shiro.
Otomo's concept of "wanting to work with young talent" led to the creation of this three-part anthology animated film with a group of cutting-edge creators in their early 30s at the time of its release in 1995.
The triple feature of "Her Memories," directed by Koji Morimoto and written by Satoshi Kon Kon, "The Stinkiest Weapon," directed by Okamura, and "Cannon Town," directed by Otomo, will be released as a "MEMORIES 4K Remaster Set (4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray & Blu-ray Disc)" on December 24th.
