Invited to a home party by Tsubaki (Ayami Nakajo), Katsuo enthusiastically made his own xiaolongbao. On the day, while a variety of dishes such as pizza and roast beef were prepared at the venue, Katsuo reheated his masterpiece in a "seiro" steamer and served it in perfect condition. He also brought his own seasonings and explained the recommended way to eat them, saying, "First, try eating them with just salt."
A party attendee said, "It tastes better with just soy sauce," but Katsuo refused, saying, "No, no, salt is best. That's because it's the easiest way to taste the umami of the broth. And the second one, with vinegar." However, the venue fell silent, and Katsuo eventually compromised, saying, "Well, eat it however you like."
The party was in full swing, but Katsuo's eyes were drawn to the cold xiaolongbao in the bamboo steamer and the half-eaten xiaolongbao on the plate. Thinking it was a waste, Katsuo told Tsubaki, "I think I should go now," and left the venue.
On the way home, Katsuo happened to meet Ayumi and decided to have her try some of his leftover xiaolongbao. Ayumi tasted them the way Katsuo recommended, and wondered, "Was this made from stock?", realizing the hidden efforts of the person who made them. Katsuo smiled as he watched Ayumi eat her fill, exclaiming, "Delicious!"
On social media, many people commented, "The Xiaolongbao scene made me cry," "I never thought Xiaolongbao could make me cry this much," "It was so sad that he worked so hard to make the Xiaolongbao from scratch and there were leftovers at the party, but thanks to Ayumi for eating them," "I almost cried when Katsuo didn't eat any of the Xiaolongbao he had worked so hard to make at the home party, and then when he ate them with Ayumi and Mero, his reward was so good that I actually cried," and "Katsuo was saved by Ayumi's presence."
