It has been revealed that actor Hiroshi Tamaki will be starring in the Fuji TV Thursday Drama "Professional Insurance Investigator Amane Ren" (Thursdays at 10pm) which will begin airing in January 2026. This will be Tamaki's first appearance in a TV drama series in about nine years, since "Career: The Rule-Breaking Police Chief" (2016), in which he played the lead role. He will play an insurance investigator who investigates cases of suspected insurance fraud and uncovers the truth behind them.
The story is set in an insurance investigation company that investigates incidents and accidents involving insurance claims. The protagonist, Amane Ren, played by Tamaki, works with his unique colleagues to solve suspected insurance fraud cases brought to a foreign insurance company that handles all types of insurance, sometimes deceiving his allies to uncover the truth, and sometimes empathizing with the victims and bringing them relief... This is the story. The script is written by Oishi Tetsuya, who Stolen Identity" and "Irregular Investigation," and the director is Hoshino Kazunari, who has worked on "Team Batista Final."
Tamaki plays Amane Ren, a skilled insurance investigator working for Miyama Research, a company specializing in insurance investigations. He was once a skilled detective in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division, but left the police force to take responsibility for failing to arrest the culprit in a "certain insurance fraud murder case." His superior from his days as a detective then introduced him to Miyama Research, and, attracted by the director's personality and the work involved, he began working as an insurance investigator. Still using his instincts as a former detective, he uses every means possible, including stakeouts, wiretapping, disguises, and fake videos, to uncover the truth behind suspected insurance fraud cases he is asked to investigate.

--Please tell us about your enthusiasm for this film and your starring role.
Recently, I've been appearing in period pieces, so this is my first modern drama in a while, and I feel stripped of all frills and completely unarmed, but in a way, I'm approaching filming with a fresh feeling. As it's a terrestrial TV drama, the cast and staff are all hoping to create a good piece, with the motto of being easy to watch and resonating with viewers.

In a word, he is a character with a strong sense of "eccentricity." The reason will become clear in future content, but I think he is the type of person who doesn't show his honest side, can't show it, or doesn't want to show it. In front of his former boss, he may show a side of himself that is closer to Amane's true nature.
