"Platinum Family: A Peek into the Magnificent Family" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 7:00 PM, excluding some regions) is a program showcasing the lifestyle of a "magnificent family." On November 11th, the program will air under the title "Platinum Family & Tuesday's Yoshizumi Kotaro Combined Special." Yuko Mizutanigawa, a world-renowned cellist and close friend of Chisako Takashima, will infiltrate the founding family of a major global company boasting annual sales of 201.5 billion yen.
Mizutanigawa headed to a lodging facility owned by the founding family of a company headquartered in Gifu Prefecture. The company boasts the top market share in Japan for products that are sure to be seen in supermarkets, with the group recording annual sales of 201.5 billion yen.
The accommodation facility, which was originally a traditional Japanese inn, has been purchased and is said to be visited by former professional baseball player Tatsunori Hara and professional golfer Masashi Ozaki, and the facilities are luxurious. Mizutanigawa then visits the family's home, which is located nearby.
The three-story mansion looks like a museum, and inside it is filled with paintings by Yuzo Kayama, with whom Mizutanigawa is friends, as well as other valuable art pieces, a Japanese-style room with custom-made Wajima lacquer desks and chairs, and a karaoke room with a sparkling mirror ball. Furthermore, a chef from a one-star Michelin restaurant will be catering for Mizutanigawa, providing the ultimate in hospitality.
The founding family also owns a famous local art museum. The chairman's wife, Naoko, serves as the museum's director, and the museum has a collection of 500 artworks collected by previous generations who had a deep knowledge of art, including Renoir and Chagall. Takashima nods and says, "Most wealthy wives own art museums."
The museum also has a hall where concerts and events can be held, and Mizutanigawa was asked by the family to perform in this hall.
