The fifth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, will be broadcast on Getsuku.
In the previous episode... Royal Hope is sent to a training farm to be trained as a racehorse. However, he is extremely wary, and the staff is at their wits' end. They can't even find a jockey. Kurisu (Tsumabuki) and his trainer Hironaka (Ando Masanobu) pin their hopes on Saki (Takasugi Mahiro), a blonde jockey from Iwate Racecourse, and ask him to transfer to the Japan Racing Association and ride Hope.
Although Saki was not keen on the idea, he finally decided to aim to become a jockey in the Japan Racing Association. He took first place in his hopeful debut race. However, a weekly magazine reported that Kozo (played by Koichi Sato) "has a secret child with the president of Royal Human, and is in a quagmire of financial troubles!?"
In episode 5... it is discovered that Kozo has a secret child! When Kurisu asks for an explanation, Kozo reveals that the woman is a former hostess, Nakajo Mikiko (Nakajima Tomoko), who is currently recuperating in a hospital in Maebashi. Kozo takes Kurisu to visit her, where Mikiko tells him about the existence of his son, Koichi (Ren Meguro), who is a university student. Kurisu offers to help Mikiko on his behalf, and the relationship of trust between Kozo and Kurisu becomes even stronger. Koichi is also fascinated by the world of racehorses.
Kozo's wife Kyoko (Kuroki Hitomi), who is not at peace with herself, takes action. Meanwhile, Hope and Saki are on a roll, and Team Royal decides to enter the Japanese Derby.
