Saito Satoru, a 72-year-old actor known for his excellent supporting roles in the "Bayside Shakedown" series and the NHK Asadora"Hiyokko" (2017), will appear for the first time in 23 years on Kuroyanagi Tetsuko's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on November 6th.
Saito appeared on stage playing the program's theme song on his trumpet, which is his hobby. He said that forming a band and singing songs he wrote and composed while playing the trumpet is his "most blissful moment." A native of Fukushima Prefecture, he performed "Beauty Adatara," a song about his hometown, in the studio. He laughed and said that he still can't get rid of his accent, and at the age of 23 he moved to Tokyo and joined the Jiyugekijo Theater, longing to work in urban theater, but he couldn't speak standard Japanese, and his seniors...
When he moved to Tokyo, he married a local woman and had two sons, but the marriage broke down after 17 years. Twenty years after his divorce, he was informed by his second son that his ex-wife had passed away. He wanted to go to the funeral to say his final goodbyes, but his eldest son asked him not to come. He has now reconciled with his sons, lives in a two-family home with his second son, and dotes on his two grandchildren.
