The fourth episode of the TBS Friday drama "Fake Mummy" (Fridays at 10pm), starring actors Haru and Rina Kawaei, aired on October 31st. The scene in which Sasaki Tomoya, a teacher at a prestigious private elementary school, played by Nakamura Aoi, also known as "Sasaeru", blushes after making a mistake was well-received.
◇The following contains spoilers
Tomoya realizes that Kaoru (Haru), who is attending a school event as the mother of his student Hidaka Iroha (Ikemura Aoi), is not actually "Hidaka Mamie (Kawaei)" but "Hanamura Kaoru," a former student of his when he was a private tutor. Kaoru refuses to acknowledge this.
On the day of a parent-sponsored event at school, Tomoya calls Kaoru again and begins, "You're Hanamura Kaoru, right?" He is afraid that Ryuma (Koji Mukai), who claims to be Iroha's father, has been threatening him, asking for information about her family and children, compiling a list, and then selling the list to a fraud company.
Tomoya deduced, "Kaoru was sent as a spy to infiltrate the school as a fake mother and extract information. That 'RAINBOWLAB' (where Mamie is the president) is a front company, and it may be connected to an international human trafficking criminal organization!" He suggested to Kaoru that they go to the police together.
Kaoru denied Tomoya's theory and revealed that she was acting as a fake mother of her own volition. However, Tomoya said, "I will report this to my superiors," and left. Left alone, Tomoya blushed and said, "I thought it was a perfect theory, but it was completely wrong. I'm so embarrassed."
On social media, people were talking about how "Sasael's deduction is way off, it's so cute", "I thought it was a perfect deduction, but Sasael is so cute lol", "Sasael is such a funny guy lol, it's so cute how he looks frustrated when his deduction was wrong!", "Sasael is a lousy detective", "Sasael is so embarrassed because his deduction was so off the mark lol, I love it so much lol", and "Sasael is actually a delusional deduction character, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the future lol".
The drama is a serial adaptation of the winning work by Sonomura Mitsuru, who won the grand prize in the first TBS NEXT WRITERS CHALLENGE screenplay competition. After suddenly quitting her job and struggling to find a new one, Hanamura Kaoru (Haru) interviews with the venture company RAINBOWLAB, where she meets Hidaka Makie, the company's president and single mother. Makie invites him to a parent-child interview as a stand-in for her daughter Iroha, who is applying to a prestigious private elementary school.
