The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM), which will air from October 27th to 31st, has been announced. On the 27th, animal linguist Toshitaka Suzuki will appear; on the 28th, Jackie Yoshikawa, known as the "King of GS" during the Showa era, and guitarist Tsunaki Mihara of the Blue Comets, along with his wife, Kay Anna; on the 29th, singer Yutaro Yutaka Takenouchi; on the 30th, actor Yutaka Takenouchi; and on the 31st, actor Hashizo Okawa's wife Mariko Niwa and her second son, Sadahito Niwa.
Suzuki is an associate professor at the University of Tokyo who proposed the idea of animal linguistics three years ago. He mainly studies great tits, which he says have several "languages" and combine them to create sentences.
Mihara suffered a stroke in 2023, collapsing in the toilet in the middle of the night and being rushed to the hospital. Prior to that, he had gone blind due to a blood clot, and had just thought it was a relief that the stroke hadn't progressed to his brain. He is eternally grateful to his wife for treating him so cheerfully.
Miura got married five years ago and his first daughter was born three years ago. His three-year-old daughter is said to be constantly talking while awake. Her parents, Tomokazu Miura and Momoe Yamaguchi, are said to dote on their granddaughter, whom they call "Jeje" and "Grandma."
