The 16th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), in which Akari Takaishi plays the heroine, was broadcast on October 20th, and viewers were captivated by the words that Ginjiro (played by Kanichiro) said to Kan'emon (played by Fumiyo Kohinata).
In episode 16, a few days after Den's (Shinichi Tsutsumi) death, the weaving factory is closed and Toki (Takaishi) loses her job. Debt collector Moriyama (Iwatani Kenji) relentlessly demands repayment from the Matsuno family and suggests that Toki become a prostitute. Among the carefree Matsuno family members, Ginjiro is the only one who feels a sense of crisis.
Ginjiro asks Moriyama to introduce him to a job and begins soliciting customers at the red-light district. In order to pay off his debts, Ginjiro carries luggage during the day, solicits customers at night, and even does side jobs. Working from morning to night, his efforts are considerable, and he sometimes collapses while on the job.
One night, Kan'emon, who has learned from Tsukasanosuke(Takashi Okabe) that Ginjiro is working as a solicitor at a brothel, comes to see him. Kan'emon, with a stern expression, scolds him, saying, "This will lower the status of our family," and "Don't bring any more shame on us," but Ginjiro retorts, "We don't have time to worry about our status! Our family of five...we have to survive," and "Why don't you just sell your armor and swords and make some money, Grandpa?" Kan'emon then shouts, "The Matsuno family has no need for the money you earn by bringing shame on them!" and leaves.
The next morning, Ginjiro leaves a note and runs off. Toki screams in despair, crying and regretting, "I was so spoiled... I was so spoiled, thinking we'd always be together..."
Ginjiro married into the Matsuno family because he hated his father's insistence on being a samurai, and although he was surprised by the Matsuno family's large debt, he worked diligently to repay it without complaining. In episode 12 (broadcast on October 14th), Kan'emon gave him strict "successor training" to become the head of the Matsuno family, scolding him, saying, "You've been ingrained in you as a low-ranking person. With skills like that, you won't be able to serve as the Matsuno family's successor." Viewers expressed sympathy, saying, "He's so pitiful," and "He's just too pathetic."
When Ginjiro told Kan'emon, "We don't have time to worry about rank!", comments such as "Well said, Ginjiro!", "That's so true!", "Ginjiro's not at fault," "I was thinking that this isn't the time to be picky about work... but then Ginjiro said it," "Ginjiro was the one who looked at the Matsuno family's situation calmly and acted accordingly," "He finally realized how much he had lost, but it was too late," and "His son-in-law is a really good person, but he's an old man who is always obsessed with samurai rank..." were all posted on social media.
