The 16th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi as the heroine, was broadcast on October 20th, and viewers expressed sympathy for the plot twist in which Ginjiro (played by Kanichiro) runs away.
In episode 16, a few days after Den's (Shinichi Tsutsumi ) death, the weaving factory is scheduled to close, leaving Toki (Takaishi) without a job. Debt collector Moriyama (Iwatani Kenji) relentlessly demands repayment from the Matsuno family and suggests that Toki become a prostitute. While the Matsuno family members remain carefree, believing that everything will work out somehow, Ginjiro is the only one who feels a sense of crisis.
Ginjiro asked Moriyama to introduce him to a job, and he began soliciting customers at the brothel. To pay off his debts, Ginjiro worked from morning to night, carrying luggage during the day, soliciting customers at night, and even doing side jobs. His hardships were considerable.
One night, Kan'emon ( Fumiyo Kohinata Fumiyo), who had found out from Tsukasanosuke(Takashi Okabe ) that Ginjiro was soliciting customers, comes to see him. Kan'emon accuses Ginjiro of lowering the status of our family, to which Ginjiro retorts, "We don't have time to worry about status!" and "Why don't you just sell your armor and swords and make some money, Grandpa?" Kan'emon raises his voice and says, "The Matsuno family has no need for the money you earned by exposing yourself to shame!"
Returning home late at night, Ginjiro takes Toki by the hand and leads her outside, proposing, "Would you like to live somewhere... somewhere far away? A town where no one knows you... just the two of us." Ginjiro says he's heard from customers at the brothel that there are tons of jobs in the city, the pay is good, and there are tons of ghost stories you can't hear in Matsue. Toki is confused and unable to answer, so Ginjiro tells her, "Forget it. It's just a joke."
The next morning, Toki wakes up to find that Ginjiro has disappeared. The note he left behind read, "Toki-chan, I'm sorry I wasn't patient enough. To everyone in the family, please forgive me for not being able to be a worthy head of the family." Toki screams and cries, regretting, "I was being spoiled... I was being spoiled, thinking we'd always be together..."
On social media, people were saying things like, "I feel so sorry for Ginjiro..." "He was working three jobs to pay off debts he didn't incur himself, and to stop Toki from being sold to a brothel, so it's no wonder he's heartbroken," "He's done enough..." "I hope Ginjiro gets away with it!" "I want Ginjiro to be happy," and "I hope Ginjiro goes to a comedy hall in Tokyo, listens to his favorite ghost stories, and eats some delicious food."
