Akari Takaishi stars in the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others). The fourth week of the drama, "Shall we do it in the class?", which begins on October 20th, will feature "Matsue's greatest genius."
"Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. Based on the story of Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn) and his wife Setsu, the story follows a couple, with a love of ghost stories, as they go about their everyday lives together with their foreign husband. Takaishi plays the main character, Toki Matsuno, while Tommy Bastow plays Toki's husband, Lefkada Heaven.
The story is not based on an original novel, but is an original work by screenwriter Fujiki Mitsuhiko, who has worked on NHK's drama "Asagaya Sisters' Laid-Back Life" and WOWOW's "Shooting Break Series."
In the fourth week, Den (Shinichi Tsutsumi) dies, the weaving factory goes bankrupt, and Toki (Takaishi) loses his job.
The Matsuno family is struggling to repay their debts, and talk of Toki becoming a prostitute resurfaces. Ginjiro (Kanichiro) tries to support his family by taking on more work to protect Toki, but ends up clashing with Kan'emon (Fumiyo Kohinata) and abandoning the Matsuno family. In the midst of despair, Toki learns of Ginjiro's whereabouts and sets off for Tokyo.
On her first visit to Tokyo, Toki arrives at Ginjiro's boarding house, where she meets Nishikori Yuichi (Ryo Yoshizawa)...
Yuichi Nishikori is an English teacher and Matsue's most brilliant student. He is also known as "Daibanjaku" (Great Standing Stone). He teaches English at Matsue Junior High School and supports Heaven, who has come to Matsue as a foreign teacher. He also meets Toki through a strange connection and they become deeply involved.
Yoshizawa, who plays Nishikori, will be appearing in a Asadora for the first time in six years, since he played Yamada Tenyo, the heroine's idol, in "Natsuzora" (first half of 2019). The popularity of "Tenyo-kun" six years ago was so high it could be called a fever, but what about Nishikori in "Bakebake"?
