It has been announced that Yu Chiba's manga "Kindergarten Wars," currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," will be adapted into a TV anime. The series is a "violence x romantic comedy" set in the "world's safest kindergarten," and has gained popularity, with the total number of comics published exceeding 1.7 million copies. The main cast has also been announced, with Atsumi Tanezaki playing Rita, a former assassin and kindergarten teacher in the Tanpopo class, and Kentaro Kumagai playing Doug, Rita's senior and a con artist, kindergarten teacher in the Tanpopo class.
"Kindergarten Wars" won an overwhelming number of votes in the "Shonen Jump+ Series Competition Ranking" reader poll on "Jump Rookie!", a manga submission and publishing platform run by the "Shonen Jump+" editorial department, and began serialization as an indie manga in 2022. 15 volumes of the comic have been released.
