In the first episode, Shunichi Sagara (played by Daito), editor-in-chief of a pachinko magazine, is forced out of his position due to a boycott by his subordinates and is tasked with developing a new magazine. He then launches "Shiba One," a magazine for dog lovers, with his beloved dog Fukusuke (voiced by Emoto Tokio) as his partner. A young editor, Reika Ishimori (played by Iitoyo), joins the team, but soon clashes with Sagara. Veteran editor Seike (played by Hairi Katagiri), photographer Mita (played by Ken Koga), and veterinarian Namezawa (played by Keiko Matsuzaka) also join the team, and they work hard to create the magazine...
Fukusuke the Shiba Inu appears throughout the entire series.
