"WIND BREAKER" official trailer and poster featuring theme song by BE:FIRST released

It was Satoru Nii on October 1st that the dance and vocal group "BE:FIRST" will be performing the theme song for the live-action film "WIND BREAKER" (directed by Hagiwara Kentaro, to be released on December 5th), which is based on the popular yankee manga by Nii Satoru. The theme song is a newly written song called "Stay Strong", with lyrics by JUNON, the member who plays Sugishita Kyotaro in the film, and produced by SKY-HI and Yaffle. The official trailer featuring the theme song has also been released.

The original work is a popular delinquent manga by Niisan, currently being serialized on Kodansha's web manga service, Magapoke. It follows the story of the protagonist, Haruka Sakura(Koshi Mizukami ), whose only redeeming quality is fighting, as he grows as a member of " Bofurin," a group that protects the town of Bofurin Fuurin High School School, a school for delinquents. Taisei Kido, Keito Tsuna Hironaga, Motoki Nakazawa, and Uesugi Shuhei also appear as members of "Bofurin." Yagi Rikako, Koki Yamashita, and Hamao Noritaka also appear. The narration is provided by Yuma Uchida, the voice actor who plays Sakura in the anime version.

The trailer is packed with fast-paced "wind action" scenes that effectively incorporate the wind into the visual effects, as well as an emotional storyline that depicts the change in the mindset of the protagonist Sakura, who has lived a solitary life, as she begins to accept the existence of friends for the first time.

The poster, which was also released, has a stylish design and the tagline, "Together with our friends. Protect until the end." It also depicts the Shishigashira Ren's army rushing in to target the Bofurin, creating a visual that evokes the fierce battle that follows.

I am very honored to be able to be involved in the first production I am appearing in, as well as the group. I was also involved in writing the lyrics, which are sprinkled with my image of "WIND BREAKER" and the feelings of the main character, Sakura, so I hope you will pay attention to them.

I put a lot of thought into making this song so that it would add even more color to the work, so I hope you enjoy it!

I think it all lies in this line.

They say that the opposite of justice is not evil, but another kind of justice, but good and evil are measured by their own standards, and as long as humans are alive there will always be things that we will never be able to understand. However, I think the desire to protect what is important to us should be respected, and even if it's not through direct action like in the movie, there are certainly things that we want to protect in order to be who we are. This made me reexamine my own spine. Also, the friendship in this film simply warmed my heart lol.

This was the first time I'd worked on a song with BE:FIRST and SKY-HI, and their attitude of prioritizing creativity made it a lot of fun to work on it :) This song, which was created with the underlying theme of reinterpreting "yankee = rock music," has come to represent BE:FIRST boldly paving the way for a new era, just like the Bofurin in the movie. Whenever you feel like punching someone, listen to this song, reconsider, and don't punch them.
