The 37th episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "Hell in Kyoto", was broadcast on September 28th. In the previous episode, Sadanobu (Inoue Yuki) received the news of Harumachi's (Okayama Amane) seppuku and wept alone, but now he continues to press forward with his reforms without slowing down, which prompted many viewers to comment, "How did that happen?"
" UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have laid the foundations for Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, who is known for her work on the highly talked-about "Drama 10: Ooku," which aired on NHK two years ago.
In the 37th episode, Harumachi commits suicide, Kisanji (Omi Toshinori) leaves, and Masanori (Furukawa Yudai) hesitates to write.
Around that time, Utamaro (Shota Sometani) receives a request for a hand-painted painting from a merchant in Tochigi, and reports his joy to Kiyo (Sawako Fujima). Meanwhile, Sadanobu implements the order to abandon donations, demolishes Nakasu, and implements frugality measures for the Ooku. Yoshiwara is affected by this, so Tsutae (Yokohama) asks Masaya and Utamaro for a new job, but Tei (AI Hashimoto) objects to the plan... and so the story unfolds.
Upon hearing from Harusada (Ikuta Toma) that "Chuniagon Kii is in poor health," Sadanobu visits Harusada (Hideki Takahashi). Harusada tries to advise Sadanobu, saying, "It's not good to change things suddenly," and "If you rush things, people won't be able to keep up with the changes." He also gently warns Sadanobu, "It's better not to think that you can eliminate evil," and "It's dangerous to measure things only by your own standards."
However, Sadanobu expressed regret, saying, "The world does not always behave as you wish. I forced the person who advised me to do so to commit seppuku," but he did not back down, saying, "In order to avenge that person's death, I must achieve what I believe in."
Social media was rife with reactions to Sadanobu's comments, with comments such as "Why did it turn out like that?", "That guy?! Should he reform?", and "No, that's not it." Other comments included, "I wonder why Sadanobu turned out like that?", "Loincloth-sama is going in a strange direction for Harumachi-sensei's sake," "Harumachi-sensei wouldn't want him to go in that direction...", "It seems like Sadanobu has gone out of control after what happened with Harumachi-sensei...", and "Ecchu-no-kami is wise and has strong convictions, as he took Harumachi-sensei's death as a warning. However, this will not be accepted by the world."
