The final episode of the TV drama series "Anpan," which aired its final episode on September 26th, was held at the Kochi Prefectural Cultural Hall (Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture) on the same day, with screenwriter Miho Nakazono in attendance. Nakazono revealed that she "sprinkled many of Takashi Yanase's words in the final episode."
"Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013) and Nobu (1918-1993), the manga artist and picture book writer who created "Anpanman." It is a "story of love and courage" that will make you feel the joy of living welling up from your whole body, depicting how these two, who were once nobodys, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
Nakazono commented, "The final episode is sprinkled with many words from Takashi Yanase Yanase's essays, and the scene where Nobu (Imada) answers an interview with a newspaper reporter is exactly what Nobu said. I think the Yanase couple were really the couple they were portrayed as in the drama."
"Takashi Yanase 's works use gentle words that everyone knows, but after drawing this work, I felt like I finally understood the deep emotions behind the words," he revealed, adding, "I believe that the messages embodied in 'Anpanman' are all Yanase's philosophy. I hope that many people who see this work will learn about it. And I would be happy if they would think about the children waiting for a piece of bread."
Nanako Matsushima , who plays Tomiko, the mother of Takashi ( Takumi Kitamura ), and Executive Director Tsuyoshi Yanagawa, who was in charge of chief direction, also attended the "Final Episode Viewing Party." Approximately 1,300 people attended the venue.
