A screening event commemorating the second anniversary of the broadcast of the TV anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, " based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan), was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on September 26th, with appearances by Atsumi Tanezaki , who plays Frieren , Kana Ichinose , who plays Fern , and Chiaki Kobayashi , who plays Stark . Tanezaki looked back on the first season of the TV anime and shared behind-the-scenes stories from the recording of the "Guillotine Aura Arc," in which Frieren confronts Aura on the Guillotine.
The event was a stage greeting for the first chapter of the special project "Special Screening of Season 1 Retrospective - Memories of the Journey", which will screen all episodes of the first season in five chapters at theaters, and the second chapter, "Aura on the Guillotine", will be screened at nine theaters nationwide on October 11th. At the event, it was also announced that Ayana Taketatsu, who plays Aura, will be appearing on stage to greet the audience at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo).
Aura only appeared in three episodes in the first season, but her overwhelming presence and lines exchanged between her and Frieren, such as "Himmel's gone," and "Aura, kill yourself," left a big impact. Tanezaki revealed that during the recording, "I thought it would be best not to talk to Taketatsu (who plays Aura), so we only exchanged greetings," and added, "Because she was able to play the cheeky Aura, I was able to be merciless in some ways."
At the event, it was announced that the second season of the TV anime will be broadcast on Nippon Television's anime slot "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" every Friday at 11pm starting January 16, 2026, and the key visual was also released.
