Actor Yuki Amami appeared at a big fan appreciation event for her starring drama "Emergency Interrogation Room" (TV Asahi) held in Tokyo on September 26th. Her co-stars Tetsushi Tanaka, Denden, and Fumiyo Kohinata revealed her true face behind the scenes, saying that she was "scary."
"Emergency Interrogation Room" is a popular series in which the Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division's "Emergency Case Response Interrogation Team (commonly known as Kintori)," led by Amami-san's veteran interrogator Yukiko Makabe, engages in a back-and-forth psychological battle with violent criminals. The series began airing in 2014 and has since gained popularity with four serial drama series (January 2014, April 2017, April 2019, July 2021) and two special dramas (September 2015, January 2022).
The fifth season will begin airing on Thursdays at 9pm from October 16th, with the final film of the series, "Emergency Interrogation Room THE FINAL," being released on December 26th. Looking around the venue, Amami said, "We've been going at it for 12 years with all of you encouraging people here. This will be the last season, but we're working hard on filming so that everyone can enjoy it."
On this day, Amami, Tanaka, Hayami Mokomichi, Suzuki Kosuke, Tsukaji Muga, Denden, and Kohinata talked in front of over 400 fans who were selected by lottery. When asked by a fan about "a cute story about the leader Amami," Tanaka immediately replied, "There isn't one (laughs)! There are lots of stories that have given me chills."
"When Amami was relaxing in the waiting room before the performance, she was wearing a tracksuit underneath, but she was going to go onstage in that outfit, and that was the only cute thing about her... (laughs). But what I thought was amazing was that even though she was wearing a tracksuit, it seemed fine to me," he said, sharing the episode.
Kohinata then joked, "I'm basically scared. I get nervous when Amami comes (to the set). I check her face in the morning (laughs)." Denden agreed, saying, "She's scary (laughs)." Amami burst out laughing as she listened, and corrected him, saying, "In the morning, I have a lot of lines to say, so my face gets grim (laughs)!" Tsukaji revealed the relationship between Amami and the cast, saying, "It's like a relationship between a student and a teacher."
