It has been announced that the fifth season of the TV anime " Rent-A-Girlfriend, " based on the romantic comedy manga by Reiji Miyajima currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha), will be broadcast in 2026. The fifth season will mark the second cour of the Hawaiians arc.
An illustration for the fifth season drawn by character designer Kanna Hirayama has also been released. It features Kazuya Kinoshita and Chizuru Mizuhara dressed in Hawaiian-inspired outfits, surrounded by deformed versions of Asami Nanami, Ruka Sarashina, Sumi Sakurazawa, and Mini Yaemori.
"Rent-A-Girlfriend" tells the story of Kazuya, a 20-year-old hopeless college student who gets dumped by his girlfriend and meets Chizuru, a beautiful girl who rents out her to him. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2017. The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2020, the second from July to September 2022, and the third from July to September 2023. The fourth season began airing in July on the late-night anime slot "Animeism" on MBS, TBS, BS-TBS, and other networks, with the final episode airing late at night on September 19th.
