Tori Matsuzaka appears at "100 Meters" event

On September 19th, a stage greeting was held at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (Chi: Chikyu no Undo ni Tsuite) ) on the opening day of the animated film " 100 Meters ." (directed by Iwaisawa Kenji), based on the manga by Uoto , who is also known for "Chi. -About the Movement of the Earth-," which was adapted into a TV anime. Tori Matsuzaka, who plays Togashi, and other voice actors appeared. In relation to the film, when asked about "what he was passionate about as a student," Matsuzaka revealed, "I was obsessed with Mini 4WD."

Matsuzaka turned to the audience and asked, "Do you know what Mini 4WD is?" He continued, "It's just a small, palm-sized car, but you compete to see how fast you can go, and you pursue how fast you can go. I got so absorbed in it, trying different types of motors and using sponge tires." He continued, "I wasn't allowed to buy a course, so I stacked up and lined up many thick comics like CoroCoro Comic and Comic Bonbon, which are read by elementary school students, to make a course," to which his co-stars responded with empathy, "I know what you mean."

Appearing on stage to greet the audience were Shota Sometani, who plays Komiya, Jun Kasama, who plays Jinshin, Rie Takahashi, who plays Asakusa, and director Iwaizawa. Sometani said that he was addicted to walking when he was a student, saying, "When I was a student, I would walk for no reason. I would go to the movies by train and then walk home. I would walk for about four hours, completely absorbed in the action."

"100 Meters" is Uoto's debut serialized work, and was serialized on Kodansha's web manga app "Magazine Pocket (Magapoke)" from 2018 to 2019. It depicts the madness and passion of those in the world of track and field who are captivated by the brilliance of the 100m (meter) race, which lasts less than 10 seconds. The anime will be directed by Iwaizawa, who was nominated for an Annie Award for "Music," and produced by Rock 'n' Roll Mountain, the studio behind "Music."
