A special program called "Prefectural Representative Foreigners" (TV Asahi) will air on September 14th from 10:30pm to 11:24pm, in which foreigners who love Japan talk about the "charms of their prefectures." These unique foreigners will be showcasing how "our prefecture is the best!", including an American who dug a hot spring himself at an inn that was on the verge of going out of business, and a Frenchman who loved Tottori's hot springs so much that he became the secretary general of the hot springs association.
In addition to passionately talking about the appeal of "our prefecture's hot springs," an Italian man appearing as a representative of Ishikawa Prefecture introduces "the world's best Kanazawa Indian curry," sparking a debate over the world's best curry.
He introduces unexpected ways to enjoy various parts of Japan from a foreigner's perspective, such as "secret pleasures unique to our prefecture." He also shares stories of "the strange feeling when returning to one's home country" as a "love for Japan that comes from living in Japan for many years."
The MC will be Shigeo Takahashi of the comedy duo "Savannah," with Maria Tani as the assistant MC, and JOY will appear as the leader of the prefectural representative foreign cheering squad. Looking back on the recording, Takahashi commented, "It was refreshing to be encouraged by people from overseas to think, 'Let's go to Japan's prefectures!' and the number of places I want to go has increased rapidly. I was able to discover many charms of Japan that I still don't know about."
