NHK's popular nature program "Darwin Has Come!" (General) will broadcast "A Guide to the World of Living Things in Kyoto, the 1000-Year Capital!" from 7:30 pm on September 7th. Kyoto is an ancient capital woven with history and culture. In fact, there are many creatures that live in the unique environment of this city. This program will take you through the amazing world of life, from the forests of temple grounds to the Kamo River and even among the moss.
The program on this day will feature creatures from Kyoto, the "City of 1000 Years," one of Japan's top tourist destinations, visited by 50 million people a year.
Flying squirrels fly through the forest within the temple grounds, giant salamanders, one of the world's largest amphibians, lurk in the Kamo River that flows through the center of town, and even the moss growing on the temple grounds is home to a surprising array of life.
