On September 2nd, members of the popular group "Arashi," Sho Sakurai and Masaki Aiba attended the "Seven-Eleven Japan New Advertising Communication Presentation" held in Tokyo. The two, who have been appointed as the company's image characters and will appear in the new TV commercials that will be aired starting September 3rd, looked back on the filming.
It had been a while since Sakurai and Aiba had filmed together. Sakurai revealed, "We talked the whole time, about all sorts of things. We recently discovered that we'd both renewed our passports at roughly the same time, and we'd gone out to eat, and we were just talking about really trivial things." Aiba, on the other hand, recalled, "It's not that we haven't seen each other recently, but it's been a while since we filmed together... so we put on some Arashi songs and got ourselves pumped up before we headed to the shoot."
The album they were playing on set was "Ura Arashi Mania," released in 2012, and Sakurai said, "We listened to each song one by one and talked about our memories." Aiba said with a smile, "We had a great time together in a friendly atmosphere. I thought it was fun listening to Arashi songs together. If it had been five people, I wouldn't have been able to play it. If it had been five people, I would have felt a little bad about not being able to play it, but since it was just Sho-chan and me, I thought it was okay."
Seven-Eleven's new TV commercials starring Sakurai and Aiba will begin airing on September 3rd, with the versions "Aliens Appear," "Aliens Are Surprised," and "Aliens Are Fluffy." The two play comical aliens who end up working part-time at the store, while actress Yuki Amami plays the store owner.
