Uncovering the musical appeal of Eikichi Yazawa

Singer Eikichi Yazawa, who will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his solo debut this September, will be featured on the music program "The Covers," which will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 10:00 p.m. on August 28th.

The subtitle of this day's program is "Eikichi Yazawa Night!". This special program will explore the musical appeal of "YAZAWA," who continues to carve out unprecedented records and memories with his innovative musical style, overwhelming performances, and rock spirit that includes his way of life, through his timeless masterpieces and melodies.

Born in Hiroshima four years after the end of the war, Yazawa was saved from poverty by hearing The Beatles on the radio. This encounter led him to start composing music on his own in his teens, and he has written most of his own original songs ever since.

Many of Yazawa's famous songs will be covered by artists who respect him across genres and generations.
