On August 25th, comedy duo Joyman's Takagi Shinya and Ikeya Kazushi appeared on stage at McDonald's Japan's new product launch event, the "2025 Tsukimi Family Announcement Event," held in Tokyo. They revealed the "changes" to their familiar material.
On this day, actress Aoi Miyazaki expressed her desire to meet Joyman, which led to the pair appearing together. The two performed an arrangement of their familiar material, "Moon viewing, moon viewing, sneak peeks at Miyazaki," and "Who's this guy?" Miyazaki, who has been a big fan since around 2008, was thrilled to see the material up close, and even took the initiative to perform Joyman's new gag, "Delicious Jiangshi," together. Both were so moved that they said, "I don't mind quitting (being comedians) today."
When asked what their respective "autumn is like," Takagi replied, "Autumn is the season for sports." "There's a lot of movement in our material. We're gradually incorporating more jumps," he said, explaining that while initially his routines focused on sideways movements, he has recently started incorporating jumps. "People often say I look like Michael Jordan. My jumping ability is getting better and better, like 'Air Joyman.' But when I perform outdoors in the summer, I get drenched in sweat. Autumn seems like it'll be nice. It's becoming Joyman season," he said, looking forward to the cooler weather.
After the event, Miyazaki said with a smile, "It was fun. Just watching the two of them talk was great. I also got to talk behind the scenes about which jokes I liked, so it was a day that I couldn't stop grinning." Iketani revealed that Miyazaki had imitated Takagi's movements in the dressing room, and expressed her gratitude, saying, "There's no one who has that kind of vibe. I was surprised, and thought, 'There are such wonderful women out there.' I look forward to continuing to work with you as a 'Joy Girl.'"
