The seventh episode of the drama series " DOPE " (TBS, Fridays at 10pm), starring Kaito Takahashi of the popular group "King & Prince" and actor Tomoya Nakamura , aired on August 15th. First Investigative Division Sergeant Tokura (Teppei Koike) revealed the reason he murdered Jinnai's (Nakamura) wife, Kaori (Noriko Iriyama), which became a hot topic on social media.

Saiki (Takahashi) comes to see Jinnai and Tokura. Jinnai reveals that the culprits in the 500 million yen robbery were Tokura and Hongo (Sano Kazuma), the head of the Metropolitan Police Department's violent crimes division, and tells Saiki, "I'm going to ask you about the reason you killed Kaori now."
Urged by Jinnai, Tokura decides to talk about what has happened so far.
Tokura had a sick daughter, Kanade, but was at a dead end because he couldn't find a donor. At that time, Hongo called out to him, saying, "I can help you if I ask someone I know. But I need your help." Tokura said, "I'll do anything if it saves Kanade," and sold his soul to perform an illegal organ transplant.
Hongo, whose gambling debts were mounting, demanded of Tokura, "Next time, you just let me be honest." Together with Hongo, they decided to rob 500 million yen stored at Shinjuku Central Police Station. Tokura recalled, "I had no choice but to comply. I had no choice." When Jinnai pressed him, "Why did you have to kill Kaori?" he replied, "I had no intention of killing her. There was no way I could have. I didn't want her to get in the way!"
Tokura revealed that he had feelings for Kaori at the time, and confessed his feelings to her, but was rejected. He said with regret, "She had another man she liked. And that was you, Jinnai. I never thought I'd marry you!" He expressed his selfish feelings, saying, "She wrote that article even though she didn't choose me. I couldn't forgive her for trying to interfere with my life again."
Afterwards, Tokura revealed that he had gone to see Kaori and begged her to take down the article, saying, "If they publish a follow-up to that article, it's all over for me. I'll be arrested and I won't be able to be with Kanade anymore. Please, help me." However, when she refused, Tokura revealed that he had taken DOPE and killed Kaori.

The story is based on the novel of the same name (Kadokawa Bunko) by Kizaki Chiaki, who made her debut as a novelist after winning the Grand Prize at the 20th Dengeki Novel Awards for her work "Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens." Set in a near-future Japan where a mysterious new drug called "DOPE" is rampant, the story follows rookie drug enforcement officer Saiki Yuto of the secret Narcotics Control Department's Special Investigation Division (Special Investigation Division) and his trainer Jinnai Teppei as they attempt to solve a mysterious case.
